I’ve grown weary of the inauthenticity of Christians.
I’ve grown weary of the fabricated smile.
I’ve grown weary of the car salesman handshake.
I’ve grown weary of consumer Christianity.
I’ve grown weary of non-discipleship.
I’ve grown weary of principles of worldly success.
I’ve grown weary of the marketing of church.
I’ve grown weary of catchy slogans and incessant jingles.
I’ve grown weary of manipulation in the name of Christ.
I’ve grown weary of a Christianity that leaves lives unchanged.
C.S. Lewis said when talking about the character of a person, "surely what a man does when he is taken off his guard is the best evidence for what sort of man he is? Surely what pops out before the man has time to put on a disguise is the truth? If there are rats in a cellar you are most likely to see them if you go in very suddenly. But the suddenness does not create the rats; it only prevents them from hiding."
I’ve grown weary of disguises.
I’ve grown weary of the pressure to join in the masquerade.
Let’s just be.
